I first started dabbling with canoes in my early 30’s as I joined some friends for some canoe camping trips in Algonquin provincial park. From there, I continued renting canoes to take short trips in Algonquin, the Kawartha’s and Massassauga provincial park before moving to Alberta.
Out in the Canadian Rockies, I discovered the world of sea kayaking and I went as far as to obtain my guiding license with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC.
However, upon moving back to Ontario, it wasn’t long before I adopted a puppy.
I had to decide on whether to continue kayaking with my dog waiting at home or revert back to canoe camping and bring her along. The decision was quite obvious.
