It’s hard to believe but this domain takabe.ca has been around for nearly 30 years. It started off as a sandbox to experiment with html until I realized I could use it to host pictures and trip reports from my adventures.

Back in the early 2000’s, my posts revolved around skiing, scrambling, trad/ice climbing and mountain biking. After all, those were common activities for anyone living in the Canadian Rockies. 

Now that I’m back in Ontario,  my activities will naturally take on more of a horizontal nature. Which is fine since an activity like canoe camping is one area where Ontario easily outshines Alberta.

Oh, in case you’re wondering, the site logo is my family crest, which has been passed on for many generations.
